TeamMates: Training Partners: Personal Goals

Performing well at the Mountain Man Memorial March is important to me. There are going to be many current members of the United States Military that will be there. I am, in all honesty looking forward to rucking side by side with current Soldiers. I can't wait to see if this 37 year old body can hang with those young bucks.

This is a picture of me (back row second from right) when I was part of the 1st Battalion 15th Infantry Regiment based out of Ft. Benning, Georgia. I was an Infantry Fire Team leader, and our squad had just gotten awarded as the top squad of the Battalion. This was 1997, and I was 21 years old at the time.

The group of people I am going to Gatlinburg with is made up of a large group of friends that I met through Comal Crossfit, where we work out.

Many of us have elected to compete in the "Heavy" division. That means we must complete the entire 26.2 miles with a minimum 35 pound pack or ruck sack on. This is especially impressive for the female members of our training group. There are not many females that even attempt this.

Let's get it on, and see what happens.
